Keynote Speaker: Mark Prensky

Mark Prensky opened the 21st Century Learners Symposium with an interactive keynote session that incorporated individual responder units so participants could provide feedback on various questions. The session covered technology integration, teacher practice, student performance, and instructional design.

Mr. Prensky also led a student discussion on classroom experiences, instructional moments, and technology use. Ten students from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, John Marshall Fundamental School (Pasadena USD), Williams Elementary School (Glendora USD), Rancho Vista Elementary (Westside Union School District), and New Millennium School (Carson) shared their moments of inspiration.

Mr. Prensky is an internationally acclaimed speaker, writer, educator, consultant, and game designer in the critical areas of education and learning. Author of Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants and Don’t Bother Me, Mom, I’m Learning, he has taught at all levels from elementary to college. The creator of advanced and engaging technology for education and e-Learning, Mr. Prensky is one of the field’s top 10 “visionaries” according to Training magazine.
