Description

The workshops presented in this strand will focus on the use of technology to support visual arts or performing arts.

We offer the following video editing programs in our workshops: iMovie 09, FinalCut Express, Adobe Premiere, and MovieMaker.

If you are interested in learning how to work with images and edit digital photographs, then sign up for Adobe Photoshop Elements(XP) (John Chambers) Learn how to use this powerful program for classroom projects.

Photostory 3.0 is a free download from Microsoft. In this class you'll learn how to develop a digital narrative using still images and your own voice.

Editing on a PC? Look for Everyone's a MovieMaker (Movie Maker XP) MovieMaker is a free digital editing program that comes on your PC. Or, if you are looking for an easy to use program to enhance your videos with professional style, sign up for Adobe Premiere Elements (XP) (John Chambers)

In the performing arts area, we offer GarageBand or Mixcraft for music creation and audio editing. Look for Getting Started with GarageBand in the Classroom (Mac). On the XP side, we'll offer Mixcraft, also referred to as "Garageband for the PC". This multi-faceted program is easy to use for podcasts, music creation and more!---Look for Getting started with Mixcraft (XP)

We are blending our iMovie 09 video editing class with the Lights, Camera, Learn class to help teachers learn the art of film making for the classroom. The result is a two day workshop you won't want to miss. Look for Video Production: Process & Technique. In this class, you'll learn the "visual grammar" of film makers, study the unique narrative cues that filmmakers use for camera placement, production design, and editing. You'll also use iMovie 09 to edit your own film. Mathew Needleman and Frank Guttler are teaming to teach this hands on class.
