Description

This Workshop is Customized For Educators in LACOE Schools (DSP, DSE).  Registration Requires Participants To Be An Educator At A Los Angeles County Office of Education School Site.

There is No Charge For Attendance; However, Approval From Your Administrator (Principal) Is Required For Participation. 

The Los Angeles County Office of Education Innovative Digital Educator and Leader (LACOE IDEAL) Certification is a four day hybrid learning academy that addresses the role of technology in the classroom using a digitally rich Road To Success Academy or Project Based Learning (PBL) model.

Participants will engage collaboratively to develop California State Standards (CSS) aligned lessons with technology-enriched learning experiences. Smarter Balanced Assessments, 21st Century Learning Skills, PBL, SAMR, blended learning, and LACOE initiatives will be addressed to help teachers continue the transformation of instruction and provide leadership to others at their school sites. They will be immersed in a learner-centered, hands-on environment where digital tools promoting communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity to form a common foundation to meet the needs of the CSS and 21st Century learning challenges in teaching and learning. 

LACOE Educators will be given a one year subscription to lynda.com, an online professional development delivery system that provides thousands of courses that allow educators to learn, practice, and share what they have learned.   Great for the "just in time" professional development need as well!

Participants will be awarded the LACOE IDEAL Certification and a Digital Badge confirming their accomplishment and validating the acquisition of knowledge and skills obtained upon completion. 

 Goals: 

• Use technology resources to enhance the learning process in the classroom. 
• Gain knowledge, understanding, and apply digital tools promoting collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity in         teaching and learning. 
• Understand the role technology plays in both Common Core learning and the assessment of that learning. 
• Identify and apply “blended” learning techniques and strategies to instructional design. 
• Describe how Project Based Learning and the use of Essential Questions can be used to help students obtain mastery in the desired      learning outcomes, including California State Standards, technology integration, and 21st century learning skills.

Spring 2018 Cohort Dates
February 27, 28, March 1, and 2, 2018 at LACOE Lab 288 
(9300 Imperial Highway, Downey, Ca.  90242)

Hours: 8:00 to 3:00pm

 School sites are encouraged to send at least two educators.

 Commitment To Receive Certification:  

• Attend 4 days of face to face training 
• Completion of final “Presentation of Learning” reflecting evidence of learning during the Academy
